The farmhouse has a border position between two of the most beautiful
Italian regions, Tuscany and Umbria.
Furthermore, it overlooks the
Valdichiana, a plain low valley that stretches to the south in the Siena
territory and it is surrounded to the west by hills.
Running trough this
valley is the Canale Maestro, built between the XV and the XVII century to
reclaim the plain that had become marshy during the Middle Ages.
These
morphological characteristics are evident in the appearance of the valley,
with all the main villages located on the lateral hills.
The typical
landscape is painted with olive groves, vineyards and scattered mezzadrili
houses.
The Valdichiana has long been a compulsory passage along the most
important roads between the north and the south of the peninsula.
Thanks to this ideal geographic location, from our agriturismo one can
easily reach Siena, the city of Palio, Arezzo, where one can admire the
wonderful paintings by Piero della Francesca, Perugia and Assisi.
Also close
by are many spa towns such as Chianciano, well-known for liver hydrotherapy
, Rapolano, if one suffers from arthritis and S. Albino, famous for its
beauty treatments.
One can also immerse themselves in the history by visiting Montepulciano,
Pienza, Cortona, Castiglion del Lago, Bagno Vignoni, Bagni San Filippo.
Finally, the most popular cities of the central Italy including Siena,
Pisa, Assisi, Todi, Sant'Antimo Abbey, Orvieto e S. Gimignano are all
within a short drive.
